Former Car Dealership Reopens as Collision Shop

Some signs of life are coming to three buildings where Kia of Douglasville and Hyundai of Arbor Place once operated. The center building located 7488 Douglas Blvd. near Stewart Pkwy. over the holidays reopened as Classic Collision, a new collision and auto body repair shop. For the last few years, the three buildings that originally were built as car dealerships have sat vacant waiting for something or someone to buy them. Kia as well as Mitsubishi and Hyundai closed up and moved to Douglas County’s unofficial car lot center, Thornton Rd. Classic Collision’s opening may be the first sign that the other buildings will soon be occupied as well. The lots themselves sit quietly away, adjacent to, but far enough away from, the congested Hwy 5/Douglas Blvd. intersection to be a part of the mall retail corridor but without so much of the traffic. We’ll keep you posted on any developments or tenants that might scoop up the other 2 buildings.
