(Carrollton, GA February 22, 2016) Carroll County Schools recognized its February 2016Apple Award Winner at the board meeting on February 18, 2016. Receiving the award for Transportation Employee of the Month was Ms. Martha Edwards, Bus Driver for Villa Rica Elementary School. Ms. Edwards was nominated by the Administration at Villa Rica Elementary stating that she goes over and beyond the call of duty regarding her job.
Her main concern is the safety of the students. An example of her service is that she often carries students home that are not on her route when they have missed their bus. She is known for helping parents who lack transportation in ensuring that their children arrive home safely.
She is a tremendous asset to the Carroll County School System.
Ms. Edwards was honored with the system Apple Award plaque, a goody bag and a flower arrangement from Oak Mountain Florist, a business partner for Carroll County Schools.
