GADOT Area 3 (Buchanan Office) tells us that construction is currently underway in Whitesburg on updating the roundabout. The construction should last two weeks and make the roundabout operate more efficiently. This is a quick response project in conjunction with Northwest GA Paving Inc valued at around $152,000.00. On April 6th you can expect flagging and paving to begin. At some points a lane might be closed in the area of Hwy 16 and Hwy 5. A 4-Way Stop was added till April 8th. It would appear that crosswalks are being installed along with a concrete barrier. Look for updated pictures soon on Instagram, “The Carrollton Menu” and Snapchat, “TheCityMenus.”

Please be aware that you will experience a traffic delay at the Highway 5 and Highway 16 roundabout due to resurfacing. This project should last approximately two weeks. Please treat this intersection as a 4-way stop only during the road work.
