A new BBQ restaurant, The Oink Joint, officially opened yesterday (Monday, April 11) in the prior location of the Cellar in downtown Newnan. The original joint opened in Zebulon in September 2010. With nearly 6 years in business and over 200 reviews, these BBQ pros have maintained a solid 4.7 rating on Facebook and a 4.5 on Yelp. After a soft opening last Thursday the fast, casual, counter-service BBQ restaurant is off to a great start with a 4.9 rating on Facebook. According to their website, theoinkjoint.com, they won various awards including Georgia State Champions from 2009 through 2012. In the near future they will also serve a selection of beer and wine. The Oink Joint can be found just off the square at 9 East Washington Street, tucked under Golden’s. Stop in and welcome them to Newnan!
