(Carrollton, Ga. May 5, 2016) Four students from the College and Career Academy participated in the Career & Technical Instruction State Leadership Conference at Rock Eagle, April 2022, 2016. The Leadership Conference provides opportunities for students to compete statewide with other CTI students in Georgia. The conference is designed to improve student’s confidence level and sense of worth.
Activities offered at the convention include leadership skills, and competitive events. Students were chosen by CTI Coordinators based on their success in their career/technical classes, behavior and attendance. CTI Coordinators for Carroll County Schools are Ronna Bush and Debra Powell.
All four Carroll County students placed in the statewide competition. Aaron Smith placed 1st in Level 2 Healthcare Science, Chelsie Turman placed 2nd in Level 2 Nutrition/Wellness, Nathan Preston placed 1st in Level 2, Catering/Food Service, and Jason Konoval placed 1st in Level 2 Graphic Design. These students competed with over 600 CTI students from the state of Georgia.
