Camp Cairn is a new program of Woodland Christian Camp. It is a free weekend bereavement camp for children and students ages 6-17 who are grieving the death of a close family member.
Campers participate in traditional camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support, led by licensed counselors/social workers and trained volunteers. Camp Cairn addresses the needs of grieving children by decreasing their sense of isolation and normalizing their experience and feelings.
The healing elements of nature and camp activities provide a safe outlet for the expression of campers’ grief. Camp Cairn will be held August 5-7, 2016 in the Heritage Camp on the grounds of Woodland Christian Camp & Retreat Center (90 Woodland Camp Road, Temple, GA 30179).
