David Milliron City Manager of Villa Rica reports:

The Georgia Department of Transportation in cooperation with the City of Villa Rica plans to alter the intersection at Bankhead Highway/US 78/SR 8 and Commerce Drive just west of SR 61 so as to prevent left-hand turns from Commerce Drive onto Bankhead Highway. There have been 15 crashes at this intersection in 5 years; four of those crashes had injuries. There have been additional crashes just to the east and west of the Commerce Drive intersection. Attached are photos of the current intersection as well as the proposed changes. Advance notice will be provided to the public prior to construction or any changes in traffic patterns.
