Carrollton Retail Store Continues Operations

ATLANTA Feb. 17, 2017 – The Honey Baked Ham Company, LLC, (HoneyBaked Ham) one of the nation’s premier food retailers, today announced it is closing its Carrollton plant on May 1, 2017.
HoneyBaked has operated the Carrollton facility for nearly 40 years.

Most recently, the plant served as one of the company’s e-commerce operations. HoneyBaked also operates a retail store in Carrollton, which will continue operations.

“We have been proud to be a part of the Carrollton community for many years,” said Matt Troy, HoneyBaked vice president of catalog and ecommerce. “After a thorough review the plant’s infrastructure, we have decided that it will not meet our needs in the future and we will close it when our lease ends in May.”

Troy said every employee impacted by the closure of the Carrollton plant will receive severance packages and HoneyBaked-paid assistance to help them find new jobs.

“We have been fortunate to have had an outstanding team at the Carrollton facility and each one of them would be a great addition to any company,” said Troy. “We are going to do all we can to help them get new employment.”

Founded by Harry Hoenselaar in 1957 and led by three generations of his family, HoneyBaked Ham offers the highest quality, handcrafted hams along with other meats, side dishes and desserts for a taste of home any time of year.
