Gold’s Gym has now been running their Charity Tennis Tournament for 31 years in a row making it one of the longest standing charity tennis tournaments in the entire Southeast!
This year the Gold’s Gym Charity Tournament raised over $6000 for local charities. Gold’s Gym is proud to present Public Education Trust with 4 $1000 scholarships.
“PET has partnered with Gold’s Gym for the past decade to offer Gold’s Gym Scholarships to seniors graduating from the five high schools in the Douglas County School System.
This year, Gold’s Gym will offer four-$1,000 scholarships through PET, bringing their total scholarship support to $25,800! Through this generous support, Gold’s Gym shows its commitment to the school system. Gold’s Gym gives back to our community in many ways in addition to support of PET. It is a privilege to partner with a local business that believes in giving back to the community it serves.”
Gold’s Gym is also donating $2000 to the Douglas County Special Olympics. The charity tournament has long been supported by local business man Arlen Loden of Loden Masonry who has an autistic grandson Mason. It meant a lot to Arlen that Gold’s Gym decided to support this outstanding cause. “I love tennis and love supporting this Charity Tournament. That is why I am proud to be a Platinum Sponsor every year.”
Gold’s Gym is proud to have created such a long standing tradition in the community. “It’s a great feeling to know that after all the balls have been hit and the trophies awarded that everyone is playing for something bigger than themselves”, said Gold’s Gym Tennis Director Peter Freeman.
