Douglasville Convention and Visitors Bureau to host National Travel and Tourism Week

(Douglasville, GA) – The 2017 National Travel and Tourism Week is all about celebrating the power of travel, and the people who help make tourism a billion dollar industry. This year’s theme shines a spotlight on the power of travel by recognizing the millions of people who keep this industry strong. This year’s theme has been coined, “the Faces of Travel.” To get into the spirit, the Douglasville Convention and Visitors Bureau will highlight individuals, groups and organizations that help support tourism within the community.

“During National Travel and Tourism Week the Douglasville CVB will host various ongoing activities and promotions,” said Samantha Rosado, Tourism Program Manager. “This will include giveaways and Faces of Travel stories, along with Travel Rally Day and Discover Douglasville Day.”

National Travel and Tourism Week—which will take place this year May 7-13—is an annual tradition for the U.S. travel community, established by a congressional resolution in 1983 and first observed the following year. It’s a time when travel and tourism professionals across the country unite to celebrate the unique value travel holds for the economy, businesses and personal well-being.
