Don’t wait until the cold bites this winter to prepare your home for the long, frosty months. Chestnut Ridge Hearth and Home is the premier home and hearth store for all of west Georgia and east Alabama.

The store is located at 109 West College Street in Bowdon and is now celebrating its one-year anniversary. Keith Barker, owner, says Chestnut Ridge offers everything you need to cozy up your home for winter.

“We provide top quality gas logs and fireplace accessories as well as upscale unique home decor,” says Keith.

The store features a showroom with a wide variety of unique furniture, lighting, and decor that you won’t find anywhere else. Keith says customers can find handmade one-of-a-kind items at Chestnut Ridge that you won’t find in big-box stores.

Chestnut Ridge has everything you need for indoor or outdoor fireplaces. The store features decorative hearths that are sure to fit the unique character of each home.

“Chestnut Ridge specializes in Real Fyre and White Mountain gas logs and Superior brand prefabricated fireboxes,” says Keith. “We also have a great line of quality built mantles for your fireplace. While browsing the store, be sure to check out our unique Teak wood items, Hinkle rockers, fire pits, fire globes, and home decor items that are hard to find.”

The store is an exclusive dealer of Stonewall Kitchen Brands which features specialty food items and much more.

“Stonewall Kitchen is a company out of Maine that uses only the freshest fruits and ingredients in their jams, jellies, and butters and sauces,” says Keith. “Chestnut Ridge carries the most popular flavors of Stonewall Kitchen including its zesty salsa brands.”

Chestnut Ridge’s home decor lineup is unlike anything else you’ll find in the area. Stop by the store to try out some Hinkle brand rocking chairs and day-bed swings which are crafted by a family-owned company based in Tennessee.

The store offers plenty of scents in addition which will help you create the exact, welcoming atmosphere for your home.

“Check us out for some of the best-smelling soy based candles around,” says Keith. “Himalayan and Mixture brand candles are some of the lines we carry. The candles are hand-poured and have strong, clean scents. We also stock Chinchilla faux fur throws and pillows, some of the softest you will ever feel, as well as other beautiful blankets. You will need to browse the store to see everything we offer!”

The store also has plenty of items that are perfect for holiday or birthday gifts. Chestnut Ridge features Willow Tree products. Willow Tree is a line of figurative sculptures that speak in quiet ways to heal, comfort, protect and inspire. These pieces are hand carved by artist Susan Lordi from Kansas City Missouri. Keith says, “Stop by and see the selection, I’m sure you will find one of these figurative sculptures that will bring happiness to someone. One could be for a Graduation, a Birthday, Holiday, and more. These are always a great Christmas gift that family and friends will cherish for many years. I personally love these beautiful selections!”

Keith says he is proud to announce the opening of Chestnut Ridge Tea Company, which features some of the finest, most flavorful and unique loose-leaf teas.

“We are a stocking dealer of almost 100 varieties of tea (the largest dealer between Atlanta and Birmingham),” says Keith. “Our lines are responsibly sourced from around the world and considered some of the best available. We carry black, green, oolong, Assam, white, herbal, and fruit teas. Be sure to sniff a sample at our Tea Sample Board. Most often, the smell indicates the taste of the tea. A lot of our teas are great cold as well as hot! Stop in on Saturdays for a free sample of ‘Tea Of The Day’!”

Jonathan Dockery, Founder of The City Menus recently purchased several ounces of peppermint tea and says, “The taste of this tea is like no other tea around; it seriously tastes like I chopped mint leaves up myself.”

“Our honey supplier is located in the beautiful North Georgia mountains featuring only natural, raw honey straight from the hive with all the natural health benefits you expect from top-quality honey,” says Keith. “Our flavors are Wildflower, Southern Cotton, Orange Blossom, and Gallberry.”

As Chestnut Ridge celebrates its first year in business, Keith invites everyone from the local community to stop by and see what the store has to offer for themselves.

“Chestnut Ridge would like to take a moment and thank each of you for your business, words of encouragement, and advice,” says Keith. “Founders Day marks our one-year anniversary in business, and we couldn’t be happier! We are looking forward to many, many years here in historic downtown Bowdon, GA!”
