Carroll County School System is pleased to announce that Russell Grizzard has been named Security Coordinator for the District. Mr. Grizzard has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of security and law enforcement positions. He most recently worked as an investigator for the Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, Mr. Grizzard is a veteran of the United States Air Force and Georgia Air National Guard. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University. He also holds numerous certifications and has completed several safety specific training courses throughout his career in law enforcement.
Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools stated, “We are grateful that our Board continues to support and invest in the safety of our staff and students. Mr. Grizzard will play a key role in the coordination and implementation of safety measures within the District, as well as partnering with first responders for ongoing training for our employees.”
Mr. Grizzard commented, “I am excited about this opportunity. I am a product of Carroll County Schools, as is my wife and son, so I know firsthand that Carroll County Schools is invested in growing and improving our children and our communities. I believe I bring with me experiences that will help keep safety at the forefront for Carroll County Schools. I look forward to working with the district and school employees, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, and all other first responders who serve our schools to ensure that safety remains our number one priority.”
