Carrollton Junior High: 2-mile “Shelter Run”

WHO: Carrollton Junior High School Cross Country Team
    WHAT: 2-mile “Shelter Run”
    WHEN: Friday, Oct. 5, 4 to 6 p.m.
WHERE: Cross Country course starting line
    WHY: To promote animal adoption

The Carrollton Junior High Cross Country team has partnered with the Carroll County Animal Shelter to launch the first Shelter Run 2-mile run. The animal shelter will be bringing dogs that the athletes will run with.

The community is also invited to run in this free event. However, this is not an event for athletes or other runners to bring their dogs from home.

The cross country team will be selling concessions and taking donations. All proceeds will benefit the shelter. Also, the shelter will be bringing the necessary paperwork in case runners or spectators decide to take a dog home with them!

Immediately following the run, we will host the paper plate awards in which each Carrollton Junior High School cross country athlete will receive some sort of individual recognition for their hard work through the season.
