City of Newnan

The City of Newnan is announcing the launch of a free trolley service.

“We are excited about the opportunity to provide a new experience to visitors and residents alike: a free trolley that features a fixed-route between various locations in Newnan,” said Assistant City Manager, Hasco Craver.

The FREE trolley service will operate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Although, the service will typically be offered on weekends, the official kick-off will take place on Thursday, February 14. “We’re giving residents, visitors and those within the community the opportunity to experience the trolley on a special event day,” said Ashley Copeland, Communications Manager for the City of Newnan. “We also encourage folks to engage in their trolley experience with social media by sharing tweets, posts and photos of their experience using our #TrolleyLove hashtag.”

The Trolley service will provide transportation between historic downtown Newnan and Ashley Park, stopping at the following locations:

· LaGrange Street at Newnan City Hall

· The Governor Eliis Arnall Parking Lot at the intersection of Madison and Perry Streets

· “The Green” at Ashley Park, located between DSW and Monkey Joe’s

The trolley will depart approximately 45 minutes in between stops.

“We encourage community members and visitors to take advantage of this new service provided by the city,” said Copeland.
