Carrollton’s People’s Parade to be held July 4

Carrollton’s annual People’s Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on July 4. Line-up will start around 8:30 a.m. and will follow the 1.8 mile route from Dairy Queen to Robinson Salvage Overstock Warehouse on 620 Bankhead Highway. The route will begin at Dairy Queen heading north on US 27, turning right onto Alabama Street, and then continuing on Newnan Street straight to Bankhead Highway.

For the first time ever, in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion, the entire membership of American Legion Post 143 will be our Grand Marshalls. Post 143’s float will be carrying the theme of the 100th anniversary of the American Legion and will be driven by Sam Pyle, Vietnam Veteran. In addition, there will be a WWII Jeep carrying WWII Veteran Carlos Fuller. Chuck Bass, Vietnam War Purple Heart recipient, and Veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Panama will also be in the parade.

The People’s Parade is hosted by the Carrollton Evening Sertoma Club.
