The Haralson County Historical Society is gearing up to host its fourth annual Fried Pie Festival on Saturday, September 21. The event will feature more than one-hundred vendors and will take place in downtown Buchanan, beginning at 9:00 a.m. lasting until 5:00 p.m.
As the afternoon kicks off, the Miss Fried Pie Pageant will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the historic Buchanan courthouse. Next, the Anniston Museum of Natural History’s live animal show (on the south side stage) will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by karaoke starting at 3:30 p.m. with DJ Party Tyme. A host of other entertainment will occur throughout the day.
Other vendors and activities will include The American Warrior Garage and KP Automotive Car and Bike Show with a Talladega Speedway pace car, Peach State Tractor Club, The U.W.G. Innovations Science Lab, Hobby Horse races on the courthouse lawn, Game Fury’s gaming trailer, and several more.
Festival chairperson Caron Connelly says, “Don’t forget to participate in the scavenger hunt. We have tons of great prizes!”
The Fried Pie Festival is a community and county-wide event featuring fried pies of all sizes and flavors, as well as cookoff competitions. Visitors can also check out the many arts and crafts and other vendors at the event.
