US MedClinic of Carrollton is teaming up with local healthcare providers to host the second West Georgia Health Fair Saturday, October 5 from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m., at The AMP in Carrollton, providing free health information, screenings, and testing to benefit the overall health and wellness of our community.

US MedClinic’s office manager Emily Day says, “All participating parties are healthcare or wellness related. This is a great opportunity to serve and educate our community. Bring the whole family and grab a free smoothie sample courtesy of Smoothy Way and enter for a chance to win a raffle prize!”

The following screenings will be available: primary care consults, blood pressure check, rapid glucose, height and weight, dermatology, and more.

The following healthcare provider partners will be at the event: US MedClinic, Pregnancy Resource Center, Ankle & Foot Centers of Georgia, Terra Mar Wellness Center, Resurgens Orthopedics, UWG Nursing Program, the Carrollton Greenbelt, Debbie Malloy Counseling, Southern Therapy Services, Rooted Chiropractic, and Carrollton Dental Solutions. (Registration is still open for healthcare providers at this time. Contact US MedClinic at 678-974-1240 if you would like to participate. All partners must be in the healthcare or wellness field.)

The first West Georgia Health Fair was held in 2016 with more than 500 participants. Emily shares, “It began as a project when I was still in school at Georgia College to complete my Community Health degree. We had a lot of fun engaging with the community at this event then, so we decided to bring it back this year! We believe it is good to provide an approachable and accessible avenue for those members of the community who do not visit a doctor annually to be screened for common chronic health concerns like hypertension, diabetes, or even skin cancer in a relaxed environment.” The health fair allows local healthcare practices and wellness companies to serve their community and market their growing practices.

Emily adds, “We want people to be aware of their options when it comes to healthcare in our area and realize that it doesn’t necessarily have to be out of reach financially. That is our goal as a business at US MedClinic, to provide quality and affordable healthcare. We are a one-hundred percent direct pay clinic. We do not work with any insurance companies. All the pricing is transparent. We offer primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine all without jumping through the hoops of insurance companies.”

A special thanks is given to this year’s sponsors: US MedClinic, Rosie’s Cafe, GW2 Liquidations, Carrollton Jewelry & Pawn, and Jason Templeton State Farm.
