The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon cutting for the Community Family Violence Prevention Initiative located in Villa Rica, Georgia.
Founded in 2016 by Tima Humphries, a survivor of family domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse, CFVPI is a family domestic violence resource center. Services include victim and survivor assistance, financial support, prevention education, healthy relationship classes, emotional support, and legal advocacy to help victims and survivors navigate the complex judicial systems.
Tima is a front line trained advocate, earning certification from the Georgia Coalition against Domestic Violence, Victims Advocacy Certification through GA Prosecuting Attorneys Counsel, GA State Bar Association – Georgia Legal Services Legal Advocacy Training, and Victims Compensation 101 training. In 2018 CFVPI became a Certified Victims Assistance Program through the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordination Counsel.
