Carrollton’s Underground Books Replaces Awning

One of Adamson Square’s destinations for locals and travelers alike is undergoing a much-needed awning improvement. Underground Books had one of the oldest awnings on the Square in Carrollton. Just recently through the assistance of a Main Street grant, the awning is being replaced by High Caliber Construction.

Megan Bell, co-owner of Underground Books tells us, “We’ve had several water issues and the awning will now cover both doors, it will hopefully help solve the water problem and make us look a lot cuter in the process.” The installation should be finished by the middle of next week.

Megan mentioned to us that the Main Street grant was matched up to $2,500.00 for the historic facade storefront. “Thank you to Main Street Carrollton Georgia, who is helping us to make this big leap forward through their matching grant! We do not anticipate having to close during regular hours for any of the construction process, so come on by and pardon our progress,” said Megan.
