Central High School’s Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Christine Hanson

Central High School faculty selected Mrs. Christine Hanson as their 2021 Teacher of the Year. 

Christine has been a Special Education teacher for 24 years at Central High School. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Mental Retardation and a Master’s Degree in Behavior Disorders from the University of West Georgia. This is the second time in her teaching career that she has been chosen as Teacher of the Year; she served as Central High School’s 2003 representative as well.

Mrs. Hanson has sponsored numerous clubs and organizations throughout her tenure at Central High School, most recently establishing the Buddy Club. Students participating in Buddy Club share time with members from Community-based Instruction classes and join field trips giving students the opportunity to bring classroom lessons full-circle. Buddy Club members attend Special Olympic events as athletes and as volunteers.

Christine enjoys sports, outdoor fun and arts and crafts. She is married to Rob Hanson and is the mother of four (4) children ranging in age from three (3) to nine (9).

Linda Morris
Linda has been a Carroll County Schools educator since 1995 and currently serves as Central High School’s Media Specialist. In addition, she is a certified fitness instructor with One Life Atlanta Fitness and teaches part-time with the University of West Georgia.
