In the latter part of 2019 Temple property owners near the Rainey Road water storage tank were notified of an upcoming project that includes the construction of a second tank next to the existing one.
According to a Carroll County Water Authority spokesperson the project is set to begin this week. Construction will continue for approximately twelve months. It will be built by Phoenix Fabricators and Erectors and will be similar to the existing tank.
The water authority’s letter continues as follows:
“In addition to erecting the new tank, other work includes site grading, site electrical, and pipeline installation. Once erected, the new tank will be painted to match the existing tank. In the months following construction of the new tank, the existing water storage tank will be taken out of service for maintenance and repairs. In an effort to minimize water service interruption, the existing tank will remain active until construction of the new storage tank has been completed.
“Local Carroll County Water Authority customers can expect some service interruptions when waterlines serving the new storage tank are connected to the distribution system. Those interruptions are expected to be infrequent and relatively short in duration. Affected CCWA customers will be notified in advance of any scheduled service interruptions.”
In closing the letter explains that no action is required of property owners.
