The Carroll County Animal Shelter, located at 251 Automation Drive, Carrollton, Georgia, is offering a foster-to-adopt program and seeking pet foster homes.

The foster-to-adopt program is for pets that are not yet ready for adoption. The program allows individuals and families to sign-up for the care of a pet at their home, while the pet remains under the ownership of the animal shelter. Once the pet is ready for adoption, the foster will have the opportunity to officially adopt. To view pets at the shelter, click here to visit Petfinder.com.

Director of animal services Susan Ellis tells us, “We have a limited number of adoption-ready pets at this time because we are unable to perform spay and neuter surgeries as a result of the impacts of the coronavirus. This is why the foster-to-adopt program is necessary.”

Another option for pet-lovers includes becoming a Foster Home, click here to learn more.

The Carroll County shelter is operating by appointment-only Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To schedule an appointment, please call (770) 214-3590.
