Revived by Cover Me Southern opened at 112 West College Street during Bowdon’s Birthday Bash merchant celebration weekend. The new furniture and home decor shop is operated by Curtis Wilson, husband to Melissa Wilson. Melissa is the owner of the boutique Cover Me Southern, which is located just a few doors down from the new decor shop.
Melissa tells us, “My husband loves reviving furniture, I’m so proud to stand behind him like he has for me for so long.”
Being a firefighter, Curtis told us that he has a pretty flexible schedule to restore pieces during the first part of the week and then open the shop Thursday through Saturday for customers. He says, “It works out really well. Many of the pieces should be things that end up in the dump, but I restore them–hence the name Revived.”
He continues, “I’ve always enjoyed tinkering with furniture, just taking something that was worn out and making it look new.” Both Melissa and Curtis chuckled as they explained that many of their customers from this past weekend’s opening have already given some furniture to them to see what Curtis can do with it.
Curtis elaborates, “We are trying to also revive the town by adding another business to Bowdon. It is such a great place to be.” The new shop was home to the warehouse for Cover Me Southern, and the idea came to be about six months ago. “Six months ago we were in motion to open the new storefront, and last weekend was the perfect time to finally celebrate a dream come true.”
Revived by Cover Me Southern is open for business Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. To learn more about the new business click here.
