City MedSpa, Where Science Meets Beauty, Adds a New Specialist

(Last Updated On: October 14, 2020)

City MedSpa, located at 309 Bankhead Highway, Carrollton, is proud and excited to introduce Taylor Lawson, L.E., a graduate of Body Logic School of Aesthetics in Birmingham. Taylor brings a special love of science and beauty techniques, as well as a top-notch education in the field of micro-needling. She is being mentored by Amy Hicks, Nurse Practitioner and owner of City MedSpa, and Crystal Lovvorn, Physician’s Assistant.

Taylor shared that she chose her school because of their 99% graduation rate and excellent education. Her mentor, who ran the school, also had her own spa and years of experience in esthetics. Taylor’s training included learning several treatment modalities as well as shadowing experienced practitioners.

Even though Taylor is a recent graduate, Amy was impressed by her shared passion for improving the look of the skin of patients in order to improve their self-image. The two also share a love of how treatments rooted in science can change a person’s life. City MedSpa offers specialized medical grade services that include Botox, dermal fillers, skin revitalization, vein treatments, laser hair removal, chemical peels, skincare, micro-needling, and weight loss programs.

Their services are well researched and have scientific evidence and FDA approval.

Amy Hicks is a nurse practitioner. She worked at Grady Trauma Center for six and a half years and handled many traumatic facial injuries, but never got to see them healed. Now she combines her two passions – medicine and beauty – to make that happen.

Crystal Lovvorn, a physician assistant with more than a decade of emergency medicine experience, is responsible for managing laser hair removal, targeted cosmetic treatments, consultations, Botox, and other services.

“The goal of bringing in a new esthetician was to train her under our licenses and experience. She didn’t have to unlearn any bad habits from other spas, but could learn our protocols from the beginning.” Amy said. “Taylor is already skilled and hungry to learn all she can.”

Taylor is so skilled, in fact, that both Amy and Crystal have Taylor do treatments on them and their families! That’s a sure sign of trust from these ladies who are some of the best providers in the area. They have clients come from all over Georgia, who were referred by word of mouth.

As for Taylor, she says, “I want to be excellent in everything that I do.”  She was chosen out of approximately 100 applicants and is so grateful that she was. “I am so lucky to find such great mentors. I am constantly learning and growing, and I feel like we are a family working together for the best of the community.” Taylor is the go-to person for micro-needling, a procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The treatment helps generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. It is mostly used on the face and may be used to treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

What sets City MedSpa apart, according to Amy, is their training, including quarterly training involving the top experts in their field. “We want to make available the highest quality skin treatment to clients without them having to travel to Atlanta or elsewhere. We also strive to make it affordable so our services are accessible to more people in our local communities.”
