The City of Newnan welcomes community residents, business owners, and neighbors to partake in its family-friendly holiday events for November and December of 2020.
This year’s holiday events will include:
November Forward Friday
Friday, November 6, 5 pm – 9 pm
Downtown Newnan
Forward Fridays are the celebration and exploration of all that downtown has to offer. Participating Forward Fridays merchants stay open late on every First Friday of the month from making downtown an idyllic destination for an evening out.
November Market Day
Saturday, November 7, 10 am – 2 pm
Downtown Newnan
The Market will feature 30 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.
Holiday Sip & See
Friday, November 20, 5 pm – 9 pm
Downtown Newnan
Holiday Sip & See is a great opportunity for visitors to get started on their holiday shopping while the holiday inventory is plentiful! There will also be a small gift market, live music and food trucks.
Plaid Friday
Friday, November 27, All Day
Downtown Newnan
Shop in Downtown Newnan and simplify your day-after-thanksgiving experience! The name “PLAID FRIDAY” celebrates the idea of LOCAL! Plaid Friday is the relaxing and enjoyable alternative to the big box store, “Black Friday.”
Santa & Snow Tubing in the Park
Friday, November 27, 2 pm – 7 pm
Downtown Newnan & First Avenue Park
The City of Newnan’s Leisure Services Department is bringing extra Christmas cheer and fun to this event planned with a special visit by Santa’s LIVE REINDEER! In conjunction with Main Street’s Santa in the Park, Leisure Services is hosting Snow Tubing in the Park. There will be a snow tubing slide with real snow tubes provided by SnowKings of Atlanta. The snowmaking is similar to that utilized at ski resorts to supplement natural snow. Snow will be blown on the slide and tubing run. Santa Claus is coming to town and making his rounds to check-in on all of the good girls and boys before his run on Christmas Day! With help from his friends at the City of Newnan, Santa will make the trek across the city limits.
