Sadly, another retail casualty of 2020 has hit the local area, with the closing the Bed Bath and Beyond at 123 Pavilion Parkway in Fayetteville. This is one of 43 stores the chain plans to close by the end of February as it looks to liquidate some of its assets to avoid bankruptcy. These are among 200 locations that the company plans to close before 2022 as it shifts its focus to more profitable locations and their online business. This is not the only store to close in our expanded regional coverage area as the location at Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville recently shut its doors after 21 years, one of the original tenants to open in the mall in 1999. Bed Bath and Beyond in Peachtree City at Kedron Village remains open and ready to serve customers in the surrounding areas.
