Carrollton Youth Track Stars Recognized for State Championships

A group of Carrollton youth were recognized at a recent city council meeting for their accomplishments at a state track meet. Twenty kids of various ages won state championships at the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) Track and Field Meet held in Jefferson, Georgia. Over 100 athletes from Carrollton competed under the leadership of Coaches Ora Chism and Bradley McLester, with 62 participating in individual competitions and ten relay teams. 

Of those, 41 placed in the Top Eight in individual events, and nineteen individuals and six relay teams earned a medal by placing in the top three events.

Carrollton had eleven individuals and four relay teams crowned, for a record total of 15 GRPA State Champions.
