The Carroll County Community Chorus’ spring concert celebrates our country, April 8-9, at the Carrollton Center for the Arts.
The chorus’ All-American Concert is a tribute to America with patriotic selections like This Is My Country, Tribute to the Armed Forces and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
“We’ve spent a lot of time preparing for this show,” said Chorus Director Jack Gantt. “It really stirs the emotions about what our country has done and what we stand for.”
There will be pieces that directly engage the audience with dramatic narration, recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Musicians from the area, including brass and string players, will join the chorus’ pianist, Leigh Lundy, to accompany the group for this unique show.
“We often expect to hear patriotic music during national holidays, but this music is relevant every day,” said Arts Superintendent Tim Chapman. ”Our concert is filled with pride, honor and devotion to our great nation. When you leave, you are reminded of the pride we should always hold close to our hearts.”
Tickets are $10 and are available online at carrolltonarts.com, by phone at 770-838-1083 and at the center’s box office at 251 Alabama Street in Carrollton.
