Farming for Profitability in Uncertain Times, July 26 at the Carroll County AG Center

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Council will host a Farming for Profitability in Uncertain Times seminar by Dr. Tommie Shepherd, Agribusiness Economist.  The event will be held on Tuesday, July 26, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Ag Center in Carrollton.

Dr. Shepherd will provide timely information on navigating farming challenges during uncertain times.   Dr. Shepherd worked six years as an economist with the USDA’s Southeast Federal Milk Marketing Order in Atlanta.  He was responsible for policy analysis, price forecasting, market outlook information, and marketing order education for producer organizations and cooperatives.  Dr. Shepherd has also worked as an economist in the insurance and mortgage industries and has taught microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, and finance.  He holds Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Georgia.
