Isabella Neal, a Temple Middle School eighth grader, is the winner of the Carroll County Schools District Spelling Bee held January 13 at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center. Central Middle School seventh grader Megan White was runner-up.
Eighteen students from Carroll County elementary and middle schools participated. Neal won with the word “lambasted.”
By winning first place in the District Spelling Bee, Neal is eligible to compete in the Georgia Association of Educators Region Spelling Bee on February 25. The winner of the Region Spelling Bee will advance to state competition on March 17 at Georgia State University.
“Competitors today are all winners from their respective schools, and we are extremely proud of them all,” Jennifer Shirley, Director of Elementary Education and District Spelling Bee Coordinator said.”We congratulate Bella and will be pulling for her as she represents us at the regional competition.”
