Ashley Park Expansion Underway

Although there has not been much buzz, phase three of the Ashley Park expansion project in Newnan is continuing behind the scenes. According to Planning and Zoning Director Tracy Dunnavant, the developer is still working to secure tenants for the expansion. There were not many details available, but Dunnavant suggested City Menus follow up in about 30 days “when they may have more information.”

In 2020, there was a public hearing held March 10 to consider a rezoning request to change the area of the expansion project from CCS (Commercial Shopping Center District) to MXD (Mixed Use Development) that was approved. This approval gave developers the green light to be able to start construction in Ashley Park.

As for the project as a whole, the Mixed Use Development that was approved in June of 2020 contained 55,000 square feet of commercial space on the tract closer to Newnan Crossing Bypass and a 278-unit five-level, residential wrap style apartment complex on Ashley Park Boulevard. Thomas Enterprises is working with the commercial tracts, and an apartment developer will handle the residential portion.

There is not any additional information to share on the expansion at this time.
