Dang Sure Delicious Pizza Coming to PTC

A beloved community staple is delivering its “Not Real Glamorous but Dang Sure Delicious” pizza to Peachtree City. Karvelas Pizza Co. will open its fifth pizzeria later this summer right in MacDuff Crossing on Highway 54. The exact location will be announced soon by The City Menus.

Joey Karvelas, owner and pizza chef, says, “We definitely love Peachtree City–the vibe down there, the people. We have a lot of customers that come from Peachtree City…. We feel like this would be a great [additional] home for us.”

Voted best Pizza in Coweta County for the third year in a row, Karvelas is not your average pizzeria next door. Joey Karvelas has been making pizza since he was a kid. “My father is Greek, you know; he taught me how to make pizza.”

Joey has taken years to perfect his craft. “I’ve got a lot of experience from really good pizza makers from all over the place. And I’ve just been doing it for decades, and I finally came up with my version.”

“We use the best ingredients…[and] everything is made from scratch,” he says.“I age my dough three days. It gives it this really good flavor and light crispness.” The ingredients include tomatoes from Italy and “the very best mozzarella you can buy,” while the potatoes are soaked in their special solution for three days and later triple fried up.

“So much time, so many hours of work go into every little bite that you have.

“There’s a lot of care, a lot of attention. It’s not about money for us. It’s never been about money. It’s been about [the fact that ] you deserve great food and [about] the tradition that’s carried on from generation to generation.

“We want to serve our communities and give you guys the very very best pizza and wings that we can offer.”

Joey concludes, “[T]his is what we’re really good at. We’re good, like everybody is good at something, and we’re good at this. We’re so excited to let people try it and put another one in somebody’s town because it’s like, it’s our ministry, you know?”

Karvela’s is also opening a location in Opelika, AL. For more information on Karvelas Pizza Co. visit their website here.
