Central High School senior Darby Burns was awarded $750 as the Gene Sanders Memorial Scholarship recipient. Darby was selected by
the local chapter of Alpha Alpha.
In addition, Darby was one (1) of four (4) recipients of the Georgia Alpha Delta Kappa State Scholarship and was awarded $1,500. Georgia Alpha Delta Kappa is the state division of the International Honorary Organization for Women Educators and is committed to promoting educational excellence. The local and state level scholarship fund is awarded for the purpose of aiding students who are pursuing a college degree.
Darby has been accepted into the University of Georgia and plans to study Political Science, eventually earning a law degree.
