The Amp’s Locals Live concert series continues this Friday with performances by the David Pippin Group and Sweet & Salty Blues Band.
The David Pippin Group features David Pippin on guitar and lead vocals, drummer Kelley Warner, keyboardist Alex Burley and bassist Jonathan Dorsey. Pippin is a well-known guitarist, producer, music educator and founder of Pippin Music Academy in Carrollton. He is an Atlanta Institute of Music graduate and a two-time Atlanta Blues Challenge winner. The band recently launched a weekly live stream on Facebook and YouTube.
Special guest vocalists Eva Rose Schultz and Adam Goodale will join the David Pippin Group on stage Friday.
A long-time fixture of the blues scene, The Sweet and Salty Blues Band, joins together the soulful vocals of Kathy “Hurricane Red” Skott-Myhre and the gospel inflected preaching style and gritty sax playing of Hans “Dr. Poppa” Skott-Myhre. Ben Lambert on guitar, Taylor Roberts on bass and Ron Rutledge on drums complete this Atlanta Blues Society member band.
All events at the Amp are free. No professional photography is allowed during shows at the Amp. Please visit carrolltonga.com/amp for updates, venue guidelines and policies.
