New Small Business Hub: Newnan Foodie Food Truck Corner to Open Next Month

The empty lot across the street from Coweta County Superior Courthouse is about to be the hub of downtown Newnan’s southside. The property, 73 Greenville Street, has been empty for ages, according to the owner’s daughter Vail White. However, three months ago she and her family decided to use the streetcorner as a way to create a vibrant, small city experience by opening it to various food trucks and small businesses.

This nook will be called the Newnan Foodie Food Truck Corner and is currently accepting vendor applications. You can click here to view the requirements, request more information, and apply.

Vail White is working diligently to create a cohesive food truck schedule with the ever-expanding food truck roster. The plan is to open the corner officially by mid-July from early lunch to dinner time. Exact hours and days of operation will be posted to their Facebook page.

“There are limited places to walk to from the courthouse, and since we are located right across the street, our food truck corner will be a great spot to get quick and delicious food!” White states.

She’s right: locals will notice that besides a few scattered businesses and residential streets in the blocks surrounding the courthouse, there aren’t many pedestrian-friendly spots to grab a tasty meal or treat in that specific area. So this corner may in fact meet a need courthouse employees and local residents have been without.

White’s heartfelt message to Newnan is that she and her family want to give back to the community in every way they can. Hearkening back on how Newnan residents have revived and sustained historic spots like Blue Fern and Ellie + Roo Baby, White feels empowered to do the same.

“I want to keep that corner alive,” she says, determined. “I’m planning for a fun kickoff with a DJ, and other vendors have already reached out about setting up booths.”

Additionally, Newnan Foodie Food Truck Corner wants to invite local musicians to apply to perform at the Corner for certain occasions. You can contact Vail at [email protected] for more information.

73 Greenville Street is sure to attract the best food in Newnan! Stay up to date with their grand opening plans by following their Facebook page.
