Bowdon witnessed Erion Farm and Ranch Supply take off back in April, and the company hasn’t looked back since. Owner and operator Carmen Erion reports that the business has become increasingly busier with each passing week, and she can’t be happier with the results – and the relationships she’s built.

“Everyone has been so welcoming,” she beams. “They’re glad that we are closer to home [than other supply stores].”

Erion Farm and Ranch Supply carries any backyard garden’s necessities and so much more. The store’s most recent addition is fencing options. Erion’s husband made a lengthy trip to pick up fence posts to sell in the store, and already one load of them has sold.

Erion also shares that her neighbors have been helping her with inventory in that they point out what gardeners and farmers would actually use and what they would pass up. It’s proven to be a learning experience, but a respectful and fun one, at that.

“We have become friends with some neighbors and they give their honest opinion,” she explains. “And you can’t provide everything, it’s just not feasible, you can’t carry everything, but you have to find a good common ground.”

One thing they do carry for sure is a piece of local history. When walking into Erion Farm and Ranch Supply, you may notice that they have a familiar, century-old roto-bin filled with nails. That’s because Erion purchased it from Burson Feed and Seed, which closed around the time Erion Farm and Supply opened back in April.

Carmen looks forward to building more and stronger relationships with her neighbors and the greater Bowdon community in months to come. She values the wisdom experienced farmers and gardeners share with her and seeks to continually expand her knowledge base. Already the store has received shining reviews such as one on Facebook that reads, “Big selection and variety for all your needs in a small town store. Love the friendliness and knowledge. So glad I found another great small business to support. Go check out these wonderful people and great prices.”
