The Avenue Peachtree City, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center, is gearing up to host its annual Labor Day 5K race, benefiting the Midwest Food Bank of Georgia. Registration for the event is now open.

Set to be held on Monday, September 4, the race will take runners on a route, which includes a combination of a street and cart path, beginning and ending at The Avenue Peachtree City. In addition to the 5K race, the event will offer a free Tot Trot for children six years old and younger. The schedule of activities during the event is as follows:

  • 6:45 a.m. – Walk-up registration & packet pickup begins
  • 7:30 a.m. – Pre-race celebration & warm-up
  • 7:45 a.m. – Walk-up registration closes
  • 8:00 a.m. – 5K race begins
  • 9:00 a.m. – Tot Trot begins
  • Awards ceremony to follow

Community members interested in participating in the race can register for the event for $25 at bit.ly/3qzELvl. Walk-up registration will also be available the day of the event for an increased fee of $30. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Midwest Food Bank of Georgia — a local organization fighting hunger and food insecurity in the state by distributing food and products to those in need.

In addition, The Avenue Peachtree City will be giving away two free registrations for the event to one lucky winner. Launching on August 18, interested participants can enter the giveaway by visiting the following link: https://shopping-giveaway.app.do/polls/labor-day-5k-registration. One winner will be selected at random and notified via email on August 28.
