Doug Kees: A Musical Prodigy
Doug Kees is not your average artist. His musical journey began in high school in Atlanta and continued through Georgia State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance. With thousands of performances under his belt, Doug has graced stages across the nation, earning accolades and respect from peers and fans alike.
In 1989, Doug founded Doug Kees Music Services, offering music lessons and numerous performances and recordings. He’s been an educator, starting the Contemporary Band Program at The Heritage School in 1993 and taking over the Instrumental Program at Central Educational Center in 2016.
Doug’s versatility extends to collaborations. In 2017, he teamed up with Michelle Malone and Drag The River, forming The Hot Toddies and recording a Billboard Top 10 album, ‘Slings and Arrows.’ They’ve shared stages with renowned artists, including The Indigo Girls and Shawn Mullins.
Doug’s discography includes his solo instrumental album “Roots and Boughs” (2019) and the full band album “Eleven” (2021). His music has garnered acclaim for its powerful performances and unique compositions.
