As registration for the September 23 Carrollton Half Marathon rapidly approaches the finish line, organizers encourage runners to sign up now.
As an added incentive, runners can take advantage of a $10 discount off registration for the week of September 11 – 15. Interested parties should sign up at runcarrollton.com, using the promo code LASTCHANCE.
No parking will be allowed on Adamson Square or Newnan Street after 2am, Saturday, September 23. Police will begin barricading for closures at 4am. Adamson Square (all quads), Rome, Bradley, Alabama and Newnan streets will be closed to through traffic from 4am until approximately 8am. At approximately 8am, Quads One and Four, Alabama, Newnan and Rome streets will reopen. Quads Two and Three and Bradley Street to West Center Street will remain closed until the end of the race, around noon. As runners approach Bradley for the finish, Bradley Street will be closed at Lee Street until the majority of runners have passed.
City Hall parking lot and the parking lot in front of the Bradley Street warehouse/Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum will be closed until the end of the race.
The Half Marathon’s 13.1-mile course starts at Adamson Square, then takes runners through the city and along the shaded, rolling hills of the GreenBelt. Runners will enjoy music and food at the Amp after crossing the finish line back at Adamson Square. Organizers expect around 600 runners to gather in downtown Carrollton for the fourth running of the half marathon.
Individual or relay team registration includes a Carrollton Half Marathon t-shirt, finisher’s medal and free food and drink tickets for the post-race festivities. The West Georgia Track Club will award cash prizes to the first, second and third place overall male and female runners, who will also receive a commemorative gift and plaque. First place male and female in the Masters category will be presented with a commemorative gift and plaque. The top three in each age group and top three teams in the relay categories will receive a commemorative gift. All finishers will be given a finisher’s medal.

The half marathon’s start time is 7:15 a.m. and will be held rain or shine.
