New businesses are underway as the Ashley Park Project continues. According to Building Department Director Bill Stephenson, as the Ashley Park Project in Newnan continues to progress, the LA-Z-BOY shop is currently under construction. Near LA-Z-BOY, is a structure identified as building 100. It is a 19,160 square-foot shell. The shell is designed for four separate tenants, but there are no confirmed tenants for that building at this time, per Stephenson.

In 2020, there was a public hearing held March 10 to consider a rezoning request to change the area of the expansion project from CCS (Commercial Shopping Center District) to MXD (Mixed Use Development) that was approved. This approval gave developers the green light to be able to start construction in Ashley Park.

As for the project as a whole, the Mixed Use Development that was approved in June of 2020 contained 55,000 square feet of commercial space on the tract closer to Newnan Crossing Bypass and a 278-unit five-level, residential wrap style apartment complex on Ashley Park Boulevard. Thomas Enterprises is working with the commercial tracts, and an apartment developer will handle the residential portion.

We will share additional details once they are made available. Keep checking back!
