Temple Welcomes McKenzie Bait and Tackle

Lifelong fishing enthusiast Matt McKenzie opened the fishing shop of his dreams last month in Temple, Georgia. The west Georgia native has pursued the sport throughout his life and is thrilled to share his passion with fellow locals.

McKenzie Bait and Tackle offers rods, reels, lures, and all your live bait needs for your early morning fishing trip. Plus, customers can speak with other experienced and friendly fishermen about anything they need to know before going out on the water.

Since graduating from the University of West Georgia in 2014, McKenzie has worked to save up to open this shop.

“I have fished my entire life including in college for the University of West Georgia and have looked forward to the opportunity to chase the dream [of opening my own shop] all along,” he shares.

Plus, McKenzie and his crew don’t just reminisce on past fishing escapades – they actively pursue those experiences in the present. Check out their Facebook page to see all their latest fishing trip updates.

“The most rewarding part has stemmed from the fact that we strive hard to create a friendly environment where people want to come and talk fishing, the hobby that is so important to so many of us,” McKenzie adds. “I enjoy the daily interactions and the smile on a customer’s face when they leave with that lure or that rod and reel they were able to put their hands on.”

Located at 1536 US-78 in Temple, McKenzie Bait and Tackle can be your go-to fishing supply store whether you’re headed East or West. You can also visit their Instagram page here or give them a call at 678-563-7733.
