Two Central High School Students Receive Top Honors in Essay Contest

Two Central High School students received top honors from the Optimist Club of Carrollton. 

Senior Kendra Ball was awarded 1st place honors and her sister, Hallee Ball was awarded 2nd place honors in the essay writing contest. The purpose of the contest is to give students an opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. Students placing in the top three (3) spots are awarded scholarships. 

Kendra was awarded $200 and Hallee $100. The top three students are asked to attend the January meeting of the Optimist Club of Carrollton and to read their essay as they receive their prize.

Kendra’s winning essay will be submitted to ZONE for judging. The ZONE winner will be submitted to Gateway District where the winner receives $2,500.
