A former Rite Aid/Walgreens will soon transition into an auto parts retailer. In March of 2018, Rite Aid reached a deal with Walgreens as part of a buyout.
Several Rite Aids in the west Georgia area closed permanently, including one in Carrollton and one in Newnan. Bowdon’s converted pretty quickly into a Walgreens but then that closed in 2020.
Recently Carrollton’s former Rite Aid at 125 South Park Street converted into a Dollar Tree along with the one in Villa Rica. Rumors were flying that Bowdon’s would do the same, however Auto Zone just submitted plans to repurpose the 11,000-square-foot building.
The complete renovation should begin towards the end of May as the project is currently out to bid for a contractor.
