West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is pleased to announce the introduction of its new Commercial Construction Management (CCM) program, which will be offered at the Carroll Campus starting in the fall semester of 2024. The program is designed to prepare students for successful careers in the growing field of commercial construction management.
The CCM program will offer students three educational pathways: an Associate of Applied Science degree, a Commercial Construction Contract Administrator certificate, and a Commercial Construction Estimator certificate. These options provide students with the flexibility to choose a path that aligns with their career aspirations and industry requirements.
The Carroll Campus features a dedicated 3,122-square-foot space within the 62,090-square-foot technology building to accommodate the program. This space includes office areas, storage rooms, a tool room, a classroom/computer lab, and a spacious 1,994-square-foot lab space.
The CCM program curriculum was developed to equip students with essential skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and technical proficiency. Graduates will master estimating, contract administration, scheduling, finance, safety, and construction methods, preparing them for roles such as project managers, contract administrators, superintendents, and estimators.
“WGTC is thrilled to launch the new Commercial Construction Management program,” Vice President of Academic Affairs Kristen Buoy said. “Our goal is to meet the industry’s demand for qualified professionals, and we believe this program will serve as a catalyst for career advancement and economic growth in our community.”
