After two years of serving over-the-top dishes on wheels, Antoine and Cierra Davison, the husband and wife duo behind Over the Top Street Eatz, are set to open their first brick-and-mortar take-out spot at 114 Temple Avenue, Newnan, Georgia 30263.
Antoine describes their cuisine as “not fast food, but fun food.” The menu features a variety of loaded fries, specialty egg rolls, wings, and homemade specialty burgers, including a brisket burger and a surf and turf burger made with beef, bacon, and shrimp.
And while their top sellers encompass almost everything on the menu, Antoine’s favorite item is the brisket Philly and the salmon Philly, while Cierra’s favorite is the dirty bird loaded fries.
“He’s the chef. All of our recipes, all of our menu items, he made up everything except the dirty bird fries,” Cierra says. Antoine adds, “I’ve been cooking since I was eight years old and have had different experiences as a line cook for a few restaurants.”
While Antoine is the culinary mastermind, Cierra is the operational backbone. “I’m the brains, I’m the operator. I make sure everything’s lined up. I book all the events, handle inventory… banking, and payroll. I’m the back end.”
Why brick-and-mortar now, you may ask? “It was more of a timing thing, and the availability of the building,” says Cierra. “We always wanted to go into the brick-and-mortar, but we chose to go the food truck route just to get our feet wet.”
If you’re worried about missing the food truck, don’t despair, it will still be available for events.
Cierra and Antoine express immense gratitude to their customers. “We really do appreciate our over-the-top family. We don’t call them customers; we call them family. We never would have imagined that we would blow up so big,” Cierra says. “We appreciate them, and they made all of this possible for us; and we are ready to take the whole of Newnan over the top and bust some taste buds wide open.”
Antoine adds, “[Our] business will never be bigger than our customers.”Keep up to date on Facebook or visit the food truck and let them “take your taste buds over the top.”
