Tasteful Changes Due South by New Partners

If you’ve been thinking Peachtree City is due for more upscale dining, mark your calendars as Due South will be opening its newly minted doors on Friday, September 6. New partners, Hope and Jameson Vanzant, have turned Due South into a sophisticated steakhouse, seafood, and bar destination.

Louis Poulias, the incoming general manager, with executive chef experience coming from a luxury hotel in Boca Raton, Florida, will lead the culinary team. With over 40 years of experience in hospitality management, Louis is excited to “bring that kind of luxury experience to Peachtree City,” he said.

Patrons can also expect an elevated menu with high-end service. Exciting drinks options will include craft cocktails, Bellini flights, and an extensive whisky list, while the food menu is highlighted with high-end premium cuts of meat and a seafood tower featuring fresh catches.

Hope and Jameson Vanzant were originally recruited by Due South owners to work on a soft remodel of the restaurant with their own respective businesses—Hope with HMS interior designs and Jameson with Custom Closets of Georgia.

Kristen Peters, assistant to Hope, shared how the project evolved. Hope and Jameson were frequent diners at Due South and were recently working on the soft remodel, “and it just kind of organically led to ‘let’s just do more and let’s now own a portion of it.’ Now, we’re renovating the entire thing.” The new Due South will shift from its former southern-rustic-kitchen vibe to a more modern art-deco environment.

As Peachtree City continues to grow, especially with the influx of theaters and studios, the Vanzants, other partners, and Louis are looking to offer an experience that rivals downtown Atlanta. Louis adds, “We’re going to give people a total package experience where it’s gonna be quality food, quality service, and still priced within an affordable range.”

Louis expressed gratitude saying, “I would like to thank everybody for the opportunity. We want to invite everybody to see something that…is different from what exists in [Peachtree City].”

“We want people to come in and feel like they’re special.”
