Newnan Lizard Thicket Moving

Lizard Thicket in Newnan, a fashion boutique that has been a staple of the community for nearly two decades, is making a big move, transitioning from its longtime home in Ashley Park to a new space in The Shops at Ashley Park. The store owner and first Lizard Thicket franchisee Ashley Bedosky said “[The] store needed a bit of a facelift;” and with the advantages of e-commerce, “we didn’t need as much space as we had.”

The decision was also influenced by her connection with Stan Thomas, the original developer of Ashley Park. With Stan now developing a new location, Ashley felt it was the perfect opportunity to update her boutique. “It’s a whole new space. I’ve loved the space that we’ve been in, but you know sometimes you just need new energy,”  she said.

“Centennial and Ashley Park, they’ve been fantastic to work with over the years, so it really was a tough decision. But he had the perfect spot.”

Ashley’s introduction to Lizard Thicket was an interesting one. She “has always, since [she] was a little girl, been obsessed with fashion.” After moving to the area, she kept hearing about a boutique in Peachtree City and a chance visit left an impression on her. “The minute I walked into it, it was just a God thing. If I had been able to put my thoughts of what I wanted on paper, it would’ve been this store,” she said. This interaction opened the door to becoming that first franchisee.

Ashley purchased the store in 2010, and she feels such appreciation and gratitude for the community. “It’s not normal in small businesses, especially coming through the COVID years… but [customers] have continued to show up and show us grace and stand by us and continue to refer us to their friends.”

Expect the same wonderful customer service. Ashley says, “[T]hat’s the big thing that I am such a proponent of is doing your best to treat each and every person like they matter, right?”

“That they’re seen, they’re heard, they’re appreciated, that they’re welcomed.”

Customers can expect an October first opening. Initially, they will be going into a temporary space for a few months and will be located at 440 Newnan Crossing Bypass, Suite 102. The permanent space will be right around the corner and the official address will be released on their socials—Instagram and Facebook
