A fitness studio from central California has stretched all the way to Newnan, as the StretchLab franchise has made its way into Ashley Park. While the studio’s grand opening is slated for mid-December, the studio is already engaging with the community by offering free 15-minute demo stretches with assessments for walk-ins.
Known for their one-on-one assisted stretching, the aim is to “help people increase mobility, flexibility, range of motion, strengthen muscles, pain relief, tension relief…” and aid injuries in a more naturopathic way, says Whitney Singleton, general manager and operator.
All of StretchLab’s Flexologists, certified movement specialists, are nationally certified and have educational backgrounds in kinesiology or related fields. According to Whitney, they “help you get into positions that you can’t get into yourself…” through such techniques as PMF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) — this method contracts the muscle and then releases it, allowing for a deeper stretch.
When customers visit, flexologists will prescribe suggestions on how often and for how long a customer might need to come in to resolve pain or reach their flexibility goals.
Memberships are customized based on individual needs, with options for various session lengths. Plans range from four to eight sessions per month, and family share plans are available. Additionally, StretchLab accepts FSA and HSA accounts, with some insurance providers offering reimbursements for the service.
As a former StretchLab member turned general manager, Whitney is passionate about bringing the benefits of assisted stretching to this community. “Stretching can truly change lives,” she says. “When you feel better, your life improves.”
