Dylan Eberline, sole owner of Infinite Games, started on his gaming journey when he sold his collection at a flea market. However, he learned the art of gaming—and yes, it is an art—in his free time while he was growing up. Now he can tell you about what playing consoles would be best for his clients, whether they are children or adults.
According to Dylan, “Younger children would benefit more from motion-controlled systems such as a WII console for hand-eye coordination and consistent activity.” Did you know that older adults would rather have retro consoles like a Nintendo 64 or a Sega Dreamcast? Dylan explains, “It is to relive and preserve an era of gaming steeped in innovation!” Wow, I remember playing with my daughter using a Nintendo console. Of course, at the time there were not as many choices for consoles or games.
Recently Infinite Games moved to have more space and be closer to the Villa Rica Community Center. The shop is adding more stock every day, as well as taking special orders from their customers. When asked about some of their best-selling games, Dylan responded, “A few of our top selling games have been WII Sports, Mario Kart, and 007 Goldeneye. Our top selling titles have been predominantly from the Pokemon franchise. Villa Rica loves its Pokemon!”
Gaming is not just for fun, there are benefits to gaming. Dylan explains, “Games can help break bad habits by providing positive distractions, reducing stress, and reinforcing goals. They boost memory, improve problem-solving, and enhance mental agility, which can prevent cognitive decline.
“Games also reduce anxiety, promote social connections, and improve physical health through fitness or rehabilitation. Additionally, they foster emotional resilience, decision-making, and teamwork. When used in moderation, games are powerful tools for personal growth and well-being.” One customer attested that playing games helped him to quit smoking by keeping his hands busy.
Infinite Games is cost-efficient, offering special sales on the weekends. The shop also hosts Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer’s League every Tuesday at 6:00 P. M.
Dylan expresses his gratitude to the community, “Thank you for your years of support – we will continue to provide a haven for our community, old and new! While there are other game stores out there, we are honored that our community chooses to shop with us!”
