Addison Smith Named Carson Scholar

Central High School junior Addison Smith was selected as a 2025 Carson Scholar. To be selected the applicant must demonstrate the highest standards of academic achievement, integrity, and civic and social responsibility. Students receiving this honor are awarded $1,000.

Addison has the opportunity to attend the Carson Scholars Fund’s Annual Chattanooga Awards Banquet to be recognized with her family and educators supporting the Carson Scholar Fund. 

The Carson Scholars Fund (CSF) was founded in 1994 by world renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson and his wife, Candy. CSF seeks to combat the American education crisis by discovering promise and rewarding excellence in our nation’s youth through scholarship programs. 

Addison is an active member of the Central High School FFA program and serves as chapter vice president. In addition, she is a finalist for the Governor’s Honors Program, is active in Beta Club, Interact Club, Key Club, Science Olympiad, Math Team, Environmental Club and National Honor Society. She plans to earn a degree in Agricultural Communications from the University of Georgia.
